Winter break is a great little respite that allows me to work on new projects. This particular year is a long, long overdue Solo CD Project. I started this particular project several times in the past but seem to be easily sidetracked by new songs. It strangely frustrating to be unable to record songs due to new ones popping in your head. And of course, I tend to like the new stuff better because it’s fresher. Actually, last summer I did get a chance to work on recording and made much headway on several songs but sadly it was not to last. Late October I had a black day where I accidently reformatted 2 hard drives; one of which contain all the Pro Logic Files I had created during the Summer. Yes, Backup, backup, backup. So I am getting started again for real. I just so happens I just received the latest version of Logic Pro 9 and will be using this to record this project. My goal is to start 30+ songs and then decide how best to proceed a what will be on which album. I am not including any songs that Peggy and I will be recording on our Burgundy Pearl CD. That project is being recorded by Bruce Blood; an amazing engineer, musician and songwriter. I will let you know the progress as this takes shape. Ron |
