Ron Dalton

Ron Dalton crafts songs from Americana to Zazzadonna.

"I grew up listening to a wide range of music and though I was drawn to pop music early on, I have found that this aged melting pot of American music has been a source of unlimited inspiration. As a songwriter I tend to use the style that best serves to tell the story."ron1

Ron came from a musical family and has carried on the family tradition of performing acoustic music for anyone with an ear to lend.

"My mother used to play boogie woogie piano by ear and sang like an angel. Back when she was a kid in the late 30s and 40s she would play grange halls all around the Pacific Northwest with my Grandad playing clarinet and sax and my uncle on banjo and percusion."

Ron’s first CD, HALF has been well received and shows his lyrical talent in both words and voice.

"Half was a CD that fell out of the freshly split sheets and rolled out into the living room, literally." Recorded in Ron's Living room as a truly acoustic solo project that reflects well on his material.

Ron is working with on the next CD to be released 2010.

"This new project is a collection of performance favorites that are seasoned and have been simmering way too long."

Ron is a veteran performer who can be spotted with several other groups as vocalist, percussionist, and guitarist. Ron is also part of the Duo Burgundy Pearl with Peggy Sullivan.

I have been mulling over what to call this CD.  This one is entirely different that my first release “Half” and as I listen to how it’s progressing I have noticed several songs are shall I say, ‘light-hearted and tongue –in-cheeky”. Ok, with songs like Boogieman and Don’t Like the Sun this is not what you would call your typical singer/songwriter material.  This Project is more upbeat that the previous and I would like to reflect this in the title as well.

Therefore, the title of this CD is “Don’t Like The Sun”. I can work on graphic concept using this title.
